Little Fire Ants

A easy way to test your home for LFA is to use clean disposible chopsticks or popsicle sticks.

1.  Using a chopstick or popsicle stick thinly smear a small amount of peanut butter onto the stick.

2. Place the stick in moist, shady areas in plants or on the ground.

3. After 30 to 60 minutes pick up the stick and place it carefully into a ziplock bag.

4. Place the bag into the freezer for at least 24 hours and mail the sample to the Hawaii Dept. of Agriculute 1428 S. King St. Honolulu, HI 96814.
